AANMT & AANA AGM’s & DINNER 2024

The Annual  Reunion Weekend of the Army Apprentices National Memorial Trust / Army Apprentice National Association will take place on Saturday 11″ and Sunday 12″ May 2024.

All ex-apprentices are very welcome to attend all or part of this weekend which is being held at

the National Memorial Arbretum, Alrewas , Staffordshire . DE13 7AR

The weekend will start with the Annual General Meeting of the Army Apprentices National Memorial Trust which will be held at the National Memorial Arboretum visitors centre, at 13:00hrs on Saturday 11″‘May.

This will be followed after a short break by the Army Apprentices National Association AGM.

In the evening you are invited to attend a Gala Dinner at the Hallmark Micklelover Court Hotel. Mickleover. Derby. DE3 0XX

This is a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and colleagues – and swap the inevitable war stories! The bar opens at 18:30hrs and dinner wil lbe served at 19:30hrs.

The Annual Drumhead Memorial Service will commence at 12:00hrs on Sunday 12″ May at the Army Apprentices Memorial in the National Memorial Arboretum. The service will be led by Rev Gary Kelly (Cartisle 67C) and will include music provided by the Army Apprentices Pipe Band, who will also be playing at the REME memorial prior to the Drumhead Service. In addition to the Standards of the Old Boys Associations of all 4 Apprentice Colleges the Standards of other Associations may be on parade.

The Hallmark Mickleover Court Hotel is offering special rates for the weekend as follows:

Double Room for £180.00 per night B&B with 3 course dinner for two.

Single Room for £146 .00 per night, B&B with 3 course dinner.

The Gala Dinner will cost £30 per head for those not staying overnight In the hotel .

No need to write it all out, just names followed by 1, 6, 8. etc

Starters
1 Grilled asparagus, tenderstem broccoli and red pepper, avocado, tomato and caper salsa.
2 Parma ham, mozzarella, sun blush tomatoes, rocket and balsamic.
3 Prawn and crayfish cocktail, gem wedge and sourdough toasts


Mains
4 Roast sirloin of beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, pancetta and thyme jus.
5 Roast breast of duck gratin potatoes braised red cabbage and fine beans parsnip crisps and port gravy.
6 Roast rump of lamb, gratin potatoes, roast carrots, green beans, garlic and rosemary gravy.


Desserts
7 Warm apple and blackberry crumble tart, vanilla custard.
8 Cream filled profiteroles, chocolate and toffee sauces.

9. Baked vanilla cheesecake, berries and fruit coulis.
