Membership of the Association

If you are an Arborfield ex-apprentice and not yet a member of the Arborfield Old Boys Association then please seriously consider joining us – if you’d like a sample copy of the OBAN magazine to find more about us then just contact  The Secretary 

Objectives of the Association

To promote the efficiency of the Army by:

1 (a) maintaining contact between former Apprentices of the Schools and Colleges and their REME Junior Soldier successors, fostering mutual friendship between them and providing for social gatherings for them;

(b) fostering esprit de corps, comradeship and preserving the traditions of the Schools and Colleges.

  1. To relieve either generally or individually members of The College, the Association or former Apprentices of the Schools and Colleges and their dependants, who are in conditions of need, hardship or distress (beneficiaries).
  2. To commemorate and remember members or former members of the armed forces of the crown and in particular those former Apprentices of the Schools and Colleges and their REME Junior Soldier successors who have lost their lives or suffered injury, or put themselves at risk of loss of life or injury, in service to the public.

  1. I am certainly an old boy having joined in Feb 1948. Served in Korea, Egypt &Scotland. Three fantastic years at Arborfield will never be forgotten.
