4 Minutes of 2024 AGM
The Minutes having been distributed were agreed

5 Matters Arising
Matters arising related mostly to the future of the website and a letter of
thanks to Peter for his work undertaken so far and with the proposals for
the future would be composed by the deputising secretary.
Presented to the members present at the AGM for ratification and
acceptance prior to forwarding.
There was also much discussion regarding future format of the event
weekend. Considering various options.
One being as previous holding the AGM & Dinner at an hotel followed by
the Memorial Service the following day.
Another option, to hold the AGM & Memorial Service on the same day.
Some form of canvassing to be sent to associations for input

6 Secretary Report
His absence due to health issues, Steve has issued a statement that can
be found at Appendix A

7 Management team Who’s Who
It was agreed, unanimously, by the members present, especially those
already holding positions of responsibility, that if they were still willing, they
should continue in their respective role.

8 Treasurer Report
In giving his report, the treasurer indicated that the financial situation was
not exactly good as can be seen in the accounts [Appendix B] and bearing
in mind that expenditure to cover the weekend events had not yet been
paid but would be in the region of some £500.00
After some discussion it was suggested that a letter of request and
encouragement for assistance, to the originating Association be
composed, agreed by the members present the secretary and president,
stating the current financial situation be forwarded.
The letter to indicate the fact that the annual donation from the Association
has remained at £100.00 over the years but that the costs of running the
memorial service etc has increased substantially. Would the Associations
therefore agree to an increase in their Annual Donation to a figure that
would help cover these costs. For example, raise their donation to
£200.00.
Would the respective association Secretaries and committees also
consider informing members that the Memorial and Service, although
instigated by the four schools/colleges, is in fact dedicated to ALL Army
Apprentices and therefor should any one wish to contribute by making a
donation, they should request details of how to make payment, whom to
inform and to which bank account should any donations be made.

9 Webmasters Report
Unfortunately, due to health issues, peter has made his apology for
absence. Also in light of the discussions at the final meeting of the AANMT
Peter is being invited to assume the role for the transferred website

10 Event Organiser Report
Due to unforeseen circumstances the events this year have been
somewhat restricted. However, the AGM and Memorial Service is all in
hand.

11 NMA Liaison Officers Report
Rob, informed the members that the staff of the NMA had been most
helpful in accommodating our needs.

12 A O B
Johnny McGahan informed the members that there was an agreement
with the NMA for a meeting room to be afforded at no cost on four
occasions per year. This facility could be extended to the associations if
required. But booked through the AANA

Appendix A Steve Joyce’s Report.

Firstly, I would like to thank Len for stepping up and taking over the tasks of the
secretary at very short notice.
I’m sure many of you will be aware that during the summer last year I went to the
doctors regarding an itchy upper torso. This resulted in me having a multitude of
blood tests and scans.
I eventually ended up in a local hospital whilst they investigated the root cause. It
was cancer around the liver / bile duct.
I was eventually referred to Kings College Hospital London for even more tests to
confirm what could be done.
Thankfully the consultant said he can fix me!
The operation took place on 16th January, lasting 12 hours.
Recovery is taking much longer than I anticipated, but my consultant is more than
happy with my progress. I am now undergoing chemotherapy, thankfully in tablet
form.
They are letting me go on the cruise we had booked in March last year, which would
have prevented me attending this year’s reunion even if I had been fit enough.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend, and the weather is kind to you all on the
Sunday.
If all goes to plan, I should be able to pick up the secretary duties again later this
year.
Steve
