Appendix A:
Firstly, I would like to thank Len for stepping up and taking over the tasks of the
secretary at very short notice.
I’m sure many of you will be aware that during the summer last year I went to the
doctors regarding an itchy upper torso. This resulted in me having a multitude of
blood tests and scans.
I eventually ended up in a local hospital whilst they investigated the root cause. It
was cancer around the liver / bile duct.
I was eventually referred to Kings College Hospital London for even more tests to
confirm what could be done.
Thankfully the consultant said he can fix me!
The operation took place on 16th January, lasting 12 hours.
Recovery is taking much longer than I anticipated, but my consultant is more than
happy with my progress. I am now undergoing chemotherapy, thankfully in tablet
form.
They are letting me go on the cruise we had booked in March last year, which would
have prevented me attending this year’s reunion even if I had been fit enough.
I hope you all have an enjoyable weekend, and the weather is kind to you all on the
Sunday.
If all goes to plan, I should be able to pick up the secretary duties again later this
year.

WEBMASTERS REPORT 10 Ma 2025 - The AANM website is currently still up and running, but with a new hosting
Company as the original, (Falcoda), went into liquidation. The change to Heart
Internet was achieved with a lot of help from Glyn Marsh (Treasurer). - Since the change to Heart, there has been no further incidents where the site has
been down. - The AANM website also now has a current SSL Certificate.
- As the Trust and Charity are coming to the end of their tenure, I have amended the
website Title to just plain
Army Apprentice National Association & Memorial [ AANA&M ], although the use
of the word TRUST and TRUSTEES remain in the text where relevant. (As per
last years’ report). This is the website title when the website opens, but the web
address remains as • https://www.armyapprenticememorial.org.uk - The new name reflects that being used currently in Facebook
N.B. The name has been changed to “Army Apprentice National Association &
Memorial” to reflect what we are trying to achieve and keep the history of the
Memorial. - If this website is to remain in its current form, then the Rolls of Honour need
bringing up to date. Could the relevant Secretaries forward any updates to me. - If there is to be only one website representing the Army Apprentice community, we
need to maintain the History of how the Memorial came into being and all that goes
with that. The Rolls of Honour will still be required on the Site as well as other data. - See attached two examples of the current site statistics. There is more detail if the
meeting requires this. - We need to make a decision regarding the future of the AANM / AANA&M website?
