Annual May Weekend events this year were a great success
The AGM at the NMA on the 9th May went smoothly. Both Patrons were in attendance. A full report will follow shortly.
The Evening Dinner held at the Menzies Hotel Mickleover was well attended and included the presentation of Appreciation plaques to each of the two retiring Trustees, Gordon Bonner and Max Warwick, by Chairman of Trustees Dave Chapman (Chepstow) and Keith Rackham (Stonemason).
Our Drum-head Service was held on the Sunday , at the Army Apprentice National Memorial at The NMA, Alrewas, Staffs. The Rev Canon Bev John officiated and Major General John Stokoe CB CBE (Joint Paton) gave the address. This included Pipers & Drum playing the March on, March off and the Army Apprentice Lament by Alex Burt – all ex apprentices. The programme, planning & routines for the service were devised by Trustee Mo Hope (Arborfield 59B). The Burton Salvation Army Band provided the music for the hymns and Bugler Bobby Crick sounded the Last Post & Reveille.
